Just when things looked bleak, I got a call from Robert Carnegie, co-director of Playhouse West, one of the most prestigious acting schools in Los Angeles. He invited me to sit in on a class and interview after I sent him my resume and headshot. I'm going to L.A. the first week in August to check on that as well as my potential living space. Everything else -- friendships, my love life, my job -- can go to Hell, as long as I have the opportunity to do what I want. I've waited and studied for four years. I deserve my time in L.A., even if I'm not successful in the literal sense. The fact that I'm actually doing what I want instead of settling for the safe and risk-free means I'm that much more successful in the long run, movie star or not.
