Today's been more difficult than I would have imagined. I've never seen my parents weep openly, but after we took Bailey to the vet, they sat in the car sobbing for five minutes. As anyone who has ever met Bailey will attest, she was the sweetest-natured and most loving dog. I know these are rather base, generic terms, but when a part of your life is gone, the hurt feels the same expressed in any manner.
I keep coming home and expecting to find her in her usual spots. And now that I'm home alone, it's even worse. I've never suffered any great loss in my life, but if this is what it feels like (on a smaller scale), then I'd just as soon be a robot.
