Yesterday I was quite saddened to hear of the death of Bruce Paltrow (Gwyneth's dad, for those of you who live under a rock). What I find most upsetting is that he died in Rome while celebrating Gwyneth's 30th birthday. I am not ashamed to feel for her loss. I think she's beautiful and talented, and the fact that she was very close to her father makes me respect her even more. As she told a journalist, "He is the most special man. He's incredibly loving and so supportive and brilliant, and so funny. I just feel really lucky to have him. There are some people in your life that you feel like, `If this person wasn't around I wouldn't make it, ' and I feel that way about my dad."
