Bill O'Reilly feels that Americans have ignored George Clooney's inappropriate remarks about Charlton Heston ("Charlton Heston announced again today that he is suffering from Alzheimer's."). He says Americans would be in an uproar if Clooney had made fun of Christopher Reeves' paralysis. I guess O'Reilly never saw the Rear Window remake.
Of course I think that Clooney's comments were mean and ignorant. But let's recall that scene in Bowling for Columbine in which Heston holds an NRA conference in Denver...one day after the Littleton massacre. That certainly doesn't call for someone to make fun of his illness, but the man isn't exactly showering all of America with sympathy by promoting the ownership of arms.
