Each year I wake up at the crack of dawn to watch the live broadcast of the Oscar nominations. Now I'm cranky for losing sleep to discover the fact that the Academy snubbed Meryl Streep in favor of Salma Hayek. I'm somewhat glad that dark horses John C. Reilly and Diane Lane were recognized. But really...Salma Hayek? I guess now I have to see her bastardize the life of Frida Kahlo before I can give an informed opinion.
