I feared that the radio would be inundated with anti-war songs. Instead, and much to my slack-jawed shock, I heard a country anti-anti-war song today. The chorus is too brilliant to paraphrase, so without any permission or implied respect whatsoever, I give you that beautiful chorus:

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

The use of "bin Laden" in a melodious rhyme scheme approaches Garfunkel leves of lyrical brilliance. And the term "blown away" is replete with class and respect. And they say country songs aren't written well...
