You'll be huge in the Appalachians

Thursday night's weekly ritual of post-work karaoke has become the highlight of my week. I am now a regular among the small but diverse bar crowd, and as a result I have my own esteem-boosting fan base. The crowd is mostly older (meaning 40's well through 70's), but dammit if they don't know how to have a good time. I will admit, however, that their adoration becomes a bit too touchy when they grope me in mid-performance. I guess there's something about "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me" that makes the females fondle.

Although I am thoroughly committed to pursuing a place in next year's American Idol (please note the tongue-in-cheek combination of self-deprecation and genuine intent), I will be just as content being Chase: Lounge Singer and Karaoke Star. I might even travel.
