Bad day
My safe place at the end of a bad day is that picture. When I don't want to talk about the day and when I can find solitude in my room, that picture, though heartbreaking because of its reminder that I'm now an adult, makes me feel better. What could have upset me then? My world was playgrounds, sunday school and a world of imagination that was unconquered by the harshness of reality. Tonight, just for tonight, I don't want to be an adult. I don't want to know how awful this world can be. I want to laugh and jump and know I'll never fall because my sisters and parents are there to catch me. I want to forget all my mistakes and remember what it felt like to be that innocent.
