I've always had a thing for sweetly seeming girls with a cunning interior. No picture perfect symbol of mid-70s family values broke as many hearts, with zest, as Marcia Brady (Maureen McCormick). During the awkward first season of "The Brady Bunch," Marcia and her juvenile ponytails fretted over little more than braces and lost diaries. However, only a year later, Marcia Marcia Marcia morphed into an adolescent praying mantis with designs on older boys, social climbing, and Jan's boyfriend Clark Tyson. As she so succinctly tells the homely middle one, "Jan, if boys don't find you attractive, don't blame it on me." By the show's third season, Marcia's confidence and prowess led to her rise (and fall) during Fillmore Junior High's production of "Romeo and Juliet." In season four, Marcia broke off a date with loser Charlie to get some from star baller Doug Simpson. Doug ditched her when her nose intercepted a football. The little bitch deserved it. The complexities of Marcia Brady reach no end. Don't be fooled by that "Sure I'll help with the chores" smile. Underneath the seeming exterior of virginal purity and kindness lurks the heart of a teenage girl willing to devour her lover after a groovy night at the ice cream parlor.
