My love affair with pop culture began in the 60s, well before I was born. A bevy of beauties from screens silver and small became synonmyous with sex appeal. Over the course of my life, I've been blessed with the opportunity to become smitten with these ladies thanks to syndication and the art of home entertainment.

Because of their universal, timeless legacies, I will honor the top five women from each subsequent decade starting today with the 1960s.

Yes, you can be insane and beautiful


After the success of 1967's Bonnie and Clyde, Faye Dunaway became a fashion icon by giving life to the bygone styles of the 1920s. In later years, she became a tabloid icon by doing crazy shit on movie sets. No matter. One look at those eyes and you hope her not-so-lucid thoughts focus on what she wants to do to you in the sack. The cheekbones and the confidence made her more than a movie star. She was a ferocious, intimidating sex goddess.

I'm sure Tina Louise can't help but cringe when faced with the prospect of being predominantly known as the movie star on Gilligan's Island. Who cares? She didn't stoop to the level of the 60s sluts who pushed their beauty as skin deep. With grace and poise, she captivated a male audience for generations to come.

Julie Newmar
Holy hot Bat villains, Batman!


Though she only appeared in six episodes of the 1960s Batman T.V. series, Julie Newmar sunk her claws into the role that permanently placed her in pop culture history. As Catwoman, Newmar combined aggressive sexuality with a playful wit and a surprising amount of intellect. Not only was she the hottest villain on the show (no offense to Zsa Zsa Gabor, who played a villainess in one episode), she was the most interesting.
