Loving Lost - SPOILERS

It began with the surprising sounds of Mama Cass and ended with an unexpected phone call. Its death toll included three women, one of whom has a surprising connection to the cause of a plane crash. It answered questions and posed newer, greater quandries.
It was the entire second season of Lost, and it was brilliant from start to finish.
My thoughts on the finale?
- There is no possible way that Locke is dead. From an industry standpoint, his contract was renewed through the end of next season. Eko, on the other hand, might be a goner. It wouldn't surprise me, and it certainly wouldn't upset me, seeing how it took him an entire half season to speak. As for Desmond, I hear he's going to be a full-time cast member next season.
- Jack, Kate and Sawyer are in quite a pickle. I can't wait to see how the writers get them out of the hands of The Others.
- Good riddance, treacherous Michael and long-gone-from-our-minds Walt. Though neither will be a contract regular next season, both have committed to occasional guest appearances. We haven't seen the last of father and son, particularly because we still don't know why The Others were so interested in Walt. And what the fuck was up with that polar bear in season one?
- Libby, Libby, Libby. That was a neat twist at the beginning in Desmond's flashback. I hear we'll find out more about her next season.
- So many other mysteries remain unresolved. The French woman (Rousseau) and her daughter, the "monsters" on the island that killed the plane's pilot, the bird that said Hurley's name, Jack seeing his dead father/Kate seeing her horse/Hurley seeing his imaginary friend, the Dharma Initiative, The Hanso Foundation, The Widmore family...
Though I know some fans lost their interest this year because of the show's mile-high pile of mysteries, I remain faithful that those questions will be answered in the same brilliant fashion as last night's finale. May the castaways never get off the island.
